Cooking for a Cause is a lovely cookbook created by Camdenville Public School in support of the Asylum Seekers Centre.
“Everyone deserves a place in Australia, wherever they come from, they need a place to stay and (it's important) to nurture people and make sure they feel cared for." - Amy from Year 7.
In 2018, a group of Stage 3 students from Camdenville Public School wanted to raise money for the Asylum Seekers Centre. The driving force behind the project was to share recipes and stories of a diverse range of people and cultures in the community.
The result is a cookbook comprised of 77 recipes featuring dishes such as:
Pork belly salad
Kifili - Macdeonian delicacy
Sarma - traditional Armenian dish
Mung bean sticky rice
No bake lemon cheesecake
