The perfect companion in the home, this tea towel with printed artwork titled Masum and her son Aman: Subcontinent offers a story about resilience and hope.
Asylum Seekers Centre Patron and local Sydney artist, Wendy Sharpe painted portraits of many members of our community. Masum agreed to sit for the painting, using the time to speak more about her story and love for her children. Wendy was able to reflect Masum's story with each brushstroke. The result is this beautiful image which has been printed onto a tea towel so you may have it in your home.
A bit about the artist:
Wendy is an Australian artist who has won many major national awards including the Archibald Prize and been awarded many international artist residencies. She has held more than 60 solo exhibitions, including Seeking Humanity, which comprised 39 portraits of people seeking asylum and refugees.
The portrait has been locally printed on 100% cotton.
