FAQ

Purpose

How does my purchase support people seeking asylum?

When you shop with us, your purchase has real impact. All purchases help the Asylum Seekers Centre provide practical and personal support for people living in the community who are seeking asylum. All profits go towards supporting the work of the ASC.

The ASC’s services include accommodation, financial relief, health care, employment assistance, education, food, and recreational activities. Your purchase and support will help open possibilities for people seeking asylum living in our community.

How else can I support the Asylum Seekers Centre?

There are lots of ways you can help support people seeking asylum.

Where do you source and make your products?

We recognise that poor supply chain management and poor working conditions impact upon vulnerable people and we are working towards operating the ASC shop in as ethical and local manner as possible.

Our t-shirt and tote bag supplier AS Colour has strong social responsibility practices which you can read about here. Screen printing of these items was done locally. Our other items were printed and sourced locally by us or our supporters.

As our shop grows, we are looking forward to developing a framework for localised procurement and employment of people seeking asylum from our community.
